About Winter Trees Stand Naked
Winter Trees Stand Naked is, I guess, a logical step after the combination of ambient, jazz, sampling and use of loops I experimented with in “Rebis” and the hypnotic beats and rhythmic, almost rap-like, spoken word of Chaos Condensed.
The overall atmosphere is still one of gloominess and melancholy, of rainy afternoons in empty houses, secrets hidden behind shut hotel doors and voices whispering in dark alleyways, but with this project, however, I’ve focused on using repetition, layering, syncopated beats and loop manipulation to produce meticulously crafted short snippets between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length which, instead of overstaying their welcome, flow into one another taking the listener on a trip as brief as it is intense.
