DJ SESSIONS

Now, the making of a good compilation tape is a very subtle art. Many do's and don'ts. First of all you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing.

- 2001: Weekly section in La Escalera Sin Peldaños radio show, Radio Enlace, Madrid.
- 2003/2004: Weekly show in Radio Darkspain (live audio collage).
- 2004/2005: Resident DJ @ Angst Club (Madrid).
- Guest DJ @ Vamp Cave (Madrid), Dark Sonne (Las Palmas Gran Canaria), La Cripta (Madrid), Vampiria (Madrid), Bogui Jazz Club (Madrid), Portinho Project (A Coruña), Transmission Club (Madrid), Café Torgal (Ourense).


My speciality and personal trademark is dark ambient, ritual, jazz, folk noir and spoken word collage, with which I create dense and engulfing atmospheres that range from the unsettling and disturbing to the emotive and melancholic, depending on my mood. In my sessions you can expect to listen to anything ranging from Coph Nia, Raison d'etre or Current 93 to Tom Waits, Billie Holiday or Jacques Brel, with Angelo Badalamenti, Nick Cave, Portishead, Lydia Lunch, Rozz Williams or Coil in between. I will basically spin anything that sounds slow, dark and atmospheric and conveys a very particular feeling for me: that of being trapped inside the Red Room from Twin Peaks ;)

When I want to have fun or I am asked for a more "danceable" session, my preferences go towards psychobilly, rockabilly, surf, punk and swing. Electronic music is OK, but nothing parties like the Ramones.

While I check out a way to upload a complete session without busting the site's bandwidth, I have made some playlists available so you can have a more precise idea of how my sessions sound. This way, if you own a smoke-filled, dimly-lit club and want to hire me to create an appropiate atmosphere, you can do so without risking your mental health. Call me now, before I become a celebrity and start charging 10.000 eur. per night! (yeah, sure).
